Founding of Dufferin Construction Company In Toronto, Ontario by James F. Franchescini.
1917
Dufferin awarded first provincial highway project. Grading of the Rouge Hill portion of Kingston Road (Highway 2) in Toronto, Ontario.
1921
Construction of Highway 5 Dundas Street, Burlington, Ontario.
1931
Construction of Various Sidewalks in Toronto, Ontario.

Dufferin Construction Company Limited becomes a part of Associated Quarries & Construction Limited.

Construction of Alaska Highway Peace River Camp, British Colombia.

James Francheschini passes awar and the company operations are taken over by his brother Leonard Francheschini and his two sons Leonard P. Francheschini and James J.L Francheschini.

St. Lawrence Cement Company acquires ‘Associated Quarries & Construction Limited’ including Subsidiary’s Dufferin Construction Company Limited, Hagersville Quarries Limited, Dufferin Quarries Company Limited, and Hagersville Asphalt Paving Company Limited.

Dufferin Construction Company celebrates 50 years in business.

Dufferin Construction Company becomes part of ‘Dufferin Materials & Construction Limited” with subsidiaries consisting of Ready-Mix, Aggregate Quarries and Aspahlt Paving.

Dufferin Construction Company changes name and becomes Dufferin Construction Company, a Business Unit of St. Lawrence Cement Inc.

St. Lawrence Cement Inc sells the final percent of its shares to Holcim Inc, a Swiss based cement company in Hoderbank Swizerland. St. Lawrence Cement changes names to Holcim (Canada) Inc and Dufferin Construction Company becomes a division of Holcim (Canada) Inc.

Dufferin Construction Strides for the General Race
On Saturday, September 16, 2017, Dufferin Construction was a Silver Sponsor in support of the Strides for The General (Hamilton General Hospital) Race in support of Joey Hackett. Joey, a Dufferin Construction employee, was injured last year and has made an amazing recovery. Many turned out to support Joey and ran or walked the 5K race. We are happy to say that Joey was also the overall ‘Top Individual Fundraiser’, helping the Hamilton General Hospital raise approximately $200,000 over the course of the event.
Greater Toronto Airport Authority Annual Runway Run
On Saturday September 23, 2017 Dufferin Construction was once again a sponsor for the 10th Greater Toronto Airport Authority Annual Runway Run. Dufferin Construction has been a sponsor since its inception 10 years ago. Many charities have benefited from this great cause and this year was no different. All proceeds went to The Propeller Project helping young people get jobs. Dufferin Construction had many participants running or walking the 5k right on Runway 06R 24L.
